Wrestling: Assistant Coach
Strake Jesuit is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Wrestling Coach. The Assistant Wrestling Coach will be a full-time member of the teaching faculty who assists the coaching staff in all phases of our wrestling program, in addition to other coaching duties to be determined.
The Assistant Wrestling Coach will assist with other duties including, but not limited to, planning practices and drills, assisting with the supervision, team schedules and transportation of athletes to and from competitions.
Additional duties include: fostering good sportsmanship and character in student-athletes, supporting a positive coaching atmosphere, providing for the safety and welfare of student athletes, supporting and abiding by the athletic policies and rules of the school and the UIL, supervising activities, and fully supporting a multi-sport athlete program.
A Bachelor’s Degree in the appropriate teaching area is required, with a Master’s Degree preferred. A working knowledge of the Society of Jesus and Jesuit education is preferred. Applicants should have a demonstrated ability to relate to and work well with others, possess excellent writing, speaking and communication skills, and have a strong proficiency with computers and technology. Candidates should possess strong organizational and leadership skills, and an ability to interact with athletes, parents, faculty, staff and media. High school varsity coaching experience is preferred.
