Learning Specialist

Strake Jesuit is currently seeking qualified applicants for the full-time faculty position of Learning Specialist. 

This person joins our Learning Resource Center, which provides individualized support for students with learning differences and their families. The Learning Specialist will assume a caseload of students to provide needed educational coaching and support specific to their experiences and abilities. Other responsibilities include parent communication and collaboration, assistance in the general operation of LRC programs, collaborating with teachers and other departments regarding student needs and services, and part-time teaching in an academic department that aligns with the candidate’s education and experience.

All faculty and staff participate in an ongoing teacher formation program, assist in the daily needs of the school community, attend and support one or more student retreats, and moderate or assist in at least one extracurricular program.

A bachelor's degree is required. A master's degree in a relevant field, and experience with academic accommodations and coaching, are strongly preferred. Applicants should have excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, organizational and leadership skills, and proficiency with technology. They should be prepared to meet the needs of our diverse and active student population. A working knowledge of the Society of Jesus and Jesuit education is preferred.
