Football: Varsity Assistant Coach

Strake Jesuit is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Varsity Assistant Football Coach. The Varsity Assistant Football Coach will be a full-time member of the teaching faculty who assists the coaching staff in all phases of our football program.

Under the supervision of the Head Football Coach, the Varsity Assistant Coach will assist with duties including, but not limited to, coaching a position group, monitoring academic progress of student-athletes, planning practices and drills, editing and labeling HUDL practice and game film, and assist with camera/drone game and/or practice footage.The Varsity Assistant Football Coach will work in connection with Varsity Coordinators, conduct meetings with their position group, prepare practice drills, provide game & practice film analysis with the position group and film breakdown of opponents, and develop substitution game plans and daily-weekly depth charts.

Additional duties include fostering good sportsmanship and character in student-athletes, supporting a positive coaching atmosphere, providing for the safety and welfare of student athletes, supporting and abiding by the athletic policies and rules of the school and the UIL, supervising activities, and fully supporting a multi-sport athlete program.

A Bachelor’s Degree in the appropriate teaching area is required, with a Master’s Degree preferred. A working knowledge of the Society of Jesus and Jesuit education is preferred. Applicants should have a demonstrated ability to relate to and work well with others, possess excellent writing, speaking and communication skills, and have a strong proficiency with computers and technology. Candidates should possess strong organizational and leadership skills, and an ability to interact with athletes, parents, faculty, staff and media. High school varsity coaching experience is preferred.
